Bio
Originally from France, Sylvan moved to Berkeley in 1986 and soon became a bassist in indie rock bands for which he also co-wrote songs. After the breakup of his last band, he returned to school and earned a bachelor's degree in music at the University of California, Berkeley in 2001. He continued his study of music composition in the master's program at San Francisco State University.
Sylvan's inevitable move to Los Angeles happened in 2004, when he enrolled in the Film Scoring program at UCLA. He has since scored several independent films, including Guarding Charlie, the 2013 directorial debut of Julie Richardson (producer, Collateral). Recently, Sylvan has returned to co-writing pop songs with his latest project, LA Frenchies.
